Kente is a fabric made of woven brightly colored silk material from Africa most identified by  the Akan people of the Asante Kingdom in West African,- Ghana.

Inspired by the web other spider, Its also carried superstitions which stated that, no work can be done or completed on Friday, and mistakes require an offering to the loom.


Kente is woven from thin strips of material interlaced together on a narrow loom by man.

It evolved when silk arrived with Portuguese traders in the 7th Century.The extortionate cost of silk 
meant they were only available to the Akan Royalties.
  

Significant colors used in kente comes with meanings. Colors of Kente worn are dependent on the occasion. 
RED : violence 
GREEN : growth
GOLD : wealth 
GREY : shame
WHITE : victory
BLACK :death
BLUE : love
